Empathy Through Art is a community-based prevention program that utilizes the arts to encourage empathy development in young people ages 5-11yrs.
The program includes K-5 school curriculum, family programming and community activities that are all intended to provide opportunities for young people to:
engage in activities that foster connection and relationship with others in their community
learn language and tools that cultivate fellowship without judgement
celebrate their individuality while using their creativity to be part of empathy-building in their community
The program utilizes The Empathy Alphabet – a tool designed to teach empathy-related vocabulary, and to provide foundational topics and themes for at-home activities, school curricula and community events.
